Continuing Professional Development

Continuing Professional Developoment is highly valued in Le Chéile Schools and we will be happy to let our teachers know about suitable and relevant courses that are brought to our attention. Recently we have received communication about the following:

Post-Graduate Diploma in School Planning:  This one-year SDPI course, accredited by NUI Galway, will be on offer in 2010/11 under the auspices of the Professional Development Service for Teachers.  Registration fee: €775.  The course brochure and application forms are available for download from the SDPI website—www.sdpi.ie.  The closing date for applications is Friday 1 October, but early application is advisable as the number of places available is strictly limited.  This is the final year of the DES subsidy for the course.

A new MA in Theology from the Mater Dei Institute, Dublin:

A new MA in Christian Leadership in Education from Mary Immaculate College, Limerick:

A Post Graduate Diploma in Spirituality and Leadership in Education offered jointly by the Marino Insititute and the Milltown Institute. this course offers:

  • Overview of the foundation documents, philosophy and context for Catholic Education
  • Development of personal faith and leadership skills
  • Preparation for leadership responsibilities and career progression.
